Professional line sitter

I’d heard of this profession but never seen it in action until I ran across this guy at the front of a very long line in SoHo. He was eager for me to take a picture that included the contact info; apparently they used to hand out business cards, but COVID has reduced them to putting a poster on the ground. The rest of the people in line were all standing — amateurs, I presume. I was so taken up with getting the blip that I forgot to ask what they were all waiting for.
