Novelties
New York is filled with plaques on buildings, but here’s a corner building in Fifth Avenue that has two plaques, neither of which I’d ever noticed before. The upper plaque marks the one-time existence of store (or manufacturer?) of novelties and favors; the lower marks this as the residence of long-forgotten U.S.Vice President (never heard of him myself). The bystander seems not to care one whit about either.
