This fragrant yellow shrub has sprouted in hedgerows everywhere: is it gorse? At this time of year, with lower temperatures and more rain, colour returns to the island. All Summer visitors see is sand, slabs of blue cloudless sky and brown parched earth (and the interiors of bars of course). I am so privileged to see the other seasons.
