A day out for E’s 88th birthday for lunch at the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel, in the dining room overlooking the lake - a reservoir built in the 1880s for Liverpool Corporation Waterworks to supply the city with fresh water. The village of Llanwddyn was submerged in the process.
