A walk in...

A longer walk today and higher up than yesterday.

We did a walk billed as 4.7 Km, rated at 1 boot (ha!), with 150 metres of ascent and supposed to take 90 minutes.

In the event, it took us 2 and a half hours but we did add on both extra distance and climb to reach the start. Also we were impeded by my knees, an old dog and a fat cat.

According to my FitBit we did 11,910 steps (so I still need another 90 today) but it reckons we did 8.37 Km, which cannot be right, and 55 "flights of stairs", which feels about right (55*10 feet = 550 feet = ? Too hard in metres for my brain right now)

Dusty walked every step of the way on his own 4 paws apart from the stretches of road where we needed to box him. He didn't lie down and complain once. Nell did well too but I feel guilty about having taken her as that was not a 1 Boot walk at all.

This being Germany and not France, there were many benches and viewpoints. We made use of a couple in order to give Nell a rest and a drink.

It was a fabulous walk up the hill and through the forest, returning along the river in the valley bottom.

So, we have been out for A Walk in the Black Forest. This has been a PSA and I cheerfully leave you with your earworm of the day.
