Top up

The moment at which I had expressed my annoyance with Simmo for putting time with her family before me; her casual acquaintance/friend, I had shot myself in the foot because when she said that she would be free for a walk at 9.15am on Saturday morning, I knew that I had to accept.

I arrived a minute late and fully expected a prolonged bout of deserved castigation, but with none forthcoming we headed out for a lovely walk by the lake supping on our Gingerbread Latte (her) and Black Forest Hot Chocolate (me), having a nice catch-up and enjoying the gentle spray of the rain on our faces.

Before long I was back in Kendal for another lovely walk into town to top up my beanie hat collection and other essential supplies (biscuits). The afternoon was spent crashed out watching Succession before Russ and Twiggy came by to collect me for a couple of pints and a chicken burger coated in some sort of delicious spicy Korean sauce.

Knowing I had a nice Sunday to look forward to, I left early to come home and catch up with some blips and have a late night viewing of In The Heights whose soundtrack continues to rattle around in my head.

Finished the day tired and happy in the knowledge of having lots of good things to look forward to.
