Echinops....again
This was a quick Blip at the close of a very pleasant day. Walked Ginny at the allotments in the morning where she encountered a well camouflaged fluffy tabby cat. Luckily I saw it first and shortened Ginny's lead. When cat and dog then caught sight of each other all 3 of us went in to a Mexican stand-off scenario. Finally the cat took the initiative and turned to give Ginny "that look" that only a cat can deliver with such ferocity that Ginny jumped in the air, backed away and let out an ear piercing cry as if she had been clawed which she had not. The cat was quite a bit bigger than her so she was right to be scared but the crying went on way beyond the need. We resumed the Mex stand-off and gradually the cat started that slow retreat checking all the while that the dog was securely fastened. Ginny recomposed herself and made slight hesitant steps towards cat but was held back by the odd flash of that stare. Cat continued her slow retreat and when it seemed safe she broke into a trot and disappeared up the track. Ginny, emboldened, now wanted to give chase!
Returned to allotment in the afternoon and cracked on with a bit more tidying and digging. Took photo, walked Ginny again and came home tired .
