COLD WEATHER RACING

It's MonoMonday and this doesn't fit the theme.....but I'm posting it anyway. The Champ Cars were at Road America this past weekend, the fall colors were in prime shape but this view just begged to be in B&W. 

Champ Car races last 8 hours...whomever makes the most laps in that time wins. Here's a couple of the 53 cars entered in the event running through the track's Hurry Downs into the hard left turn 8. If I get enough requests, I will post the color version. Normally I'd put in an extra....but I'm out of them for the year.

These are not pro racers...just regular Joes having fun on the weekends. It used to be called Chump Cars.....but they started to take themselves seriously and changed the name once the original Champ Cars abandoned it.  Not many rules exist, the cars are cheap (not including safety equipment) and not very pretty. But they get the job done.

You can see a portion of the MotorPlex in the background....mostly karting, bike racing and cycle schools. At the far left you can see a lineup of "street skills" motorcycle class attendees. The track offers many cycle schools including beginners school which, once completed successfully, you are automatically qualified for cycle endorsement on you driver's license.
