Electric Guitar
Finally got to bring home my new toy today. It arrived at the shop last week, but I didn’t want to fetch it home until there was less mess in the house. This particular guitar is down to me selling a Martin acoustic and then spotting an article about a new model of Telecaster for 2021, the Noventa. The funds from the Martin were originally earmarked for another acoustic, but I got distracted! Though as it took several months for this particular guitar to get here from the USA, I did go out and buy another acoustic anyway whilst I was waiting!
Having now got this guitar, I do think it might spend a lot of its time just sitting there, looking pretty. I don’t really play electric guitar these days as most of the stuff I do is on bass. But I’m hopeful that when all the decorating is completed, it might actually be possible to have a bit of time to myself just to try and and learn a few songs. Think of this as being the male equivalent of shoes and handbags - sometimes the only function an item needs to have is to look good!
The name “Noventa” is a reference to the type of pickup fitted to the guitar (a P90) and where the guitar was made (Mexico) - noventa being Spanish for ninety.
Other than that, little else exciting has happened today. I wasted a good hour trying to get a socket to fit properly after one of the securing screws refused to tighten up fully. Eventually I got it tight enough, so I’m just hoping it never needs to come off the wall again.
Just trying to relax a bit now before heading out to tonight’s technical rehearsal for the play. After last night, I’m not particularly looking forward to it, but I don’t suppose it can get any worse than that experience! Not anticipating an early finish so it’s going to be another night with not much sleep before the decorators return early tomorrow morning.
