A day at the seaside

Today we had a long planned day at the coast to refresh our spirits. On the way we planned to stop for coffee at the Old Cheese Factory café. But when we got there, the café was closed, being refurbished under new management. Never mind, the shop was open and we bought an early Christmas present and some chocolate freckles.

When we got to Werri Beach, our favourite fish and chip shop was not only closed, but vanished in a building site (extra). We hope that it, too, is being refurbished and relaunched. It’s good to see that new businesses seem to be rising out of the Covid ashes, but sad to think of the previous owners who didn’t make it.

The replacement fish and chips we found were very ordinary, not a patch on the Werri Beach fish shop – we do hope it returns. Anyway, we did come home with spirits refreshed, just by looking at the ocean and walking on the beach.
