Feeding my friends cat day 2

A fairly clear day for me, apart from extra cat feeding commitments.  Revisited lovely gardens at Tyntesfield.  I have now volunteered to work in the kitchen gardens here, but been told there is a waiting list:(
I have never grown a dahlia - but find them rather splendid - they seem to last well into the autumn, long after most flowers have disappeared.  I thought this one was extra special. 
Also ‘my’ builder came today to work out what to do about the damp in the outer walls of my crumbly old house. As well sorting out the damp, I’ve also asked him to fit internal insulation on all the outside walls downstairs.  I hope it will keep the house much warmer and dryer and help keep my gas bills down.  So Insulate Britain have had at least one success.  I don’t think I’d have thought of it before.
