Wednesday: Reconnecting

From left to right, here are Lilyanna, LeLe and Helen.  We knew Lilyanna (or Xin Li as she was then) when we worked in Beijing many years ago.  She was an interpreter in our office and was always highly entertaining.  That certainly hasn’t changed!  She, and her partner, Helen, moved to Montreal about 13 years ago, about the time we left China, and have now moved to Surrey.

We drove over tonight to their place for dinner.  Neither of them have changed at all - it was good to see them again.  And I love that circumstances have meant we reconnected.  Life is very odd, but good, in that way.
