More memories at Roydon Loch
Before flying home today and taking advantage of the glorious weather my husband, my mum and I took a walk around Roydon.
We walked back down to St Peters Church to see my Grandads grave before continuing onto the station then along the canal. At Roydon Loch we were just in time to see a narrow boat go through. It isn't often I have seen narrow boats going through the loch here so we hung around to watch/help.
As a child my family went on four (I think) canal holidays hiring a narrow boat for the week. I can't speak for my sister but I certainly enjoyed these holidays although on the early ones I'm not sure how much help I was, especially when I accidentally threw the windlass, I think it was into the water!
Seeing this narrow boat go through the loch today brought back more memories of my childhood on what has turned out to be an emotional weekend.
