Friday: Blackbird in the Cotoneaster …

… slap bang in the centre of the photo, but difficult to spot! Poor photo, but only one I took … sorry :-((
We had very heavy rain from nightfall yesterday through to lunchtime today. MrD was on deliveries at the centre of the island and many roads were flooded and impassable … people were very helpful in warning him and he found alternative routes, one road was like a river and he tells me that the side of his car is covered in chunks of grass!
I ventured out into the garden this afternoon, after peeling another lot of onions for pickling - in the kitchen today, too cold to stand still outdoors.
Picked myself some baby kale leaves which I chopped and boiled with fusilli pasta, frozen broad beans, sliced runner beans from garden. Drained, then Hellman’s mayonnaise, grated cheddar cheese and fresh salmon … MrD had meatballs!
