Saturday: Last Day of British Summertime

Heavy rain woke us up just after 6 this morning, this seems to be happening a lot this week!
Once it got light, around 8am, the rain was gone and we had a warm and fine day, 17°C late afternoon…!
For the last few weeks I’ve been picking apples up and just putting them in a wooden tray. Following all the gales, the apples are now covered in leaves and a few wood lice and slugs, time to sort the keepers from the “use up immediately” - the latter have been chopped and washed and used to make compote with some frozen wild blackberries. The good apples will store ok for a few weeks.
There are still a couple of dozen Bramley cooking apples on the tree - I’m amazed they’re still there after all the high winds and heavy rain!!
Whilst I was checking on rocket & lettuce seedlings potted on a few days ago, I noticed the Passion flower has a few flowers - it’s actually a weed in my garden, popping up everywhere!
Tweetie Pie has been added to cheer everyone up after a very trying week of commuting to the mainland and crazy British government choices … Our Prime Minister https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rishi_Sunak and his choice of side-kicks …
Happy Halloween Saturday Night :-))
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
