Stormy

Heavy wind and rain with coastal flooding. What a nasty day. We have roads closed, piers being destroyed, electricity off, city sewer systems not functioning, and vehicle accidents throughout the area. We and our children have had no adverse effects so far. My sister and mother may have damage. We slept in a bit today. Hubby was restless most of the night so we needed more rest. We spoke with his doc’s office and he will no longer take the meds that caused the foggy brain and hallucinations. Yeah! Since the storm was raging at PT time, my son graciously took hubby out for it. My daughter is getting my groceries, brought us a better ice pack and our oldest granddaughter found some hard to get items for us. We’ve received countless sincere notes and calls from family and friends. Sure helps to have a support system. Hubby is actually a little better today. Terrible news yesterday. An Amish buggy was struck and the driver was killed. My nephew knows the family well. The car’s driver fled-so hard to believe anyone would do that. Also, a young man at our grandchildren’s high school who seemed to be very happy/content with his life, jumped from the bridge I’ve blipped before. His body was quickly recovered. Incredibly sad and unnerving since we have eight “happy” grandchildren. I quickly realized that taking care of hubby is a piece of cake. Making stir fry for dinner, everything is ready, just have to heat and serve. Thanks for your visits and words of encouragement. Let us pray for those less fortunate. Wishing you a safe and peaceful weekend. “Sometimes the greatest storms bring out the greatest beauty… Life can be a storm, but your hope is a rainbow and your friends and family are the gold.” – Steve Maraboli
