Wet journey

Just switched car radio on in time to hear M18 long delays, we thought it would be clear by the time we got there, it wasn’t so we stayed on M1. It rained from leaving home, it was heavy and lots of surface water and spray, so slow journey.
Stopped off to visit my niece and her new baby, four weeks old and I had to have a hold. My sister was also visiting so that was nice.
The journey from that point was dry and by the time we got to the cottage it was lovely so coat on and out for a walk.
We are only here for two nights before heading to Scotland.
Had a glass of red while cooking dinner, disappointing, the wine not the dinner.
