Waders
It was a very wet morning so we had a slow start, by the time we went out for our walk the sky was blue and filled with sunshine!
It has been a homely day getting some chores done and baking chocolate sponge and apricot rock cakes.
This afternoon we walked Merlin at the seafront in Emsworth. The autumn migrating birds (mainly waders) are arriving so we stood and tested our ornithology knowledge for a while. I find wading birds quite tricky to identify but we think we saw a flock of green shanks (amongst other things). I’d not noticed these gates to the sailing club feature wading birds - you may be able to make them out in this photo.
This evening Andy has made a delicious Indian meal (aubergine bhaji, baked cauliflower, lamb saag and boiled rice). So we’re well fed and ready to sit down and relax (me with some aromatherapy notes and Andy with highlights from today’s football!).
Hoping you’ve had a good day. Take care.
