River Teign
Today was forecast as sunny with low winds so we decided to go for a walk from Castle Drogo on Dartmoor along the River Teign to Chagford and back. It was a good choice as the scenery was stunning in the sun. The leaves haven't really turned yet just a few starting. The river however was very full and fast flowing, not surprising after all the overnight rain.
I caught sight of many different fungi as we walked but there wasn't really time to stop. A few short showers and rainbows were spotted but the rain didn't last long. We had a good lunch and much needed coffee in Chagford, a delightful Dartmoor town. A quick look in the 13th C St Michael's Church where preparations for an environmental event supporting the COP26 Climate Change Conference were taking place.
We then retraced our steps up to Castle Drogo with another few short showers and rainbows. A good days walking.
