Nidificate
Early start after a fab evening. Our first (fancy) restaurant choice was full, so we ended up in a neighbourhood wine bar where the owner apogised for 'only' having cold cuts, when that was exactly what we wanted, and then put on such a fine spread that we ended up ordering extra wine.
We made it to the airport in good time, despite a closed road and closed car hire centre. Security was absurdly slow, but we had built in enough time. Bumpy flight the whole way home, but exhaustion overwhelmed fear. Home just after 9am to check on the hens and fish (all happy). Breakfast then a slow round of work and admin.
A tour of the garden produced a haul of chillies and a handful of figs from the small fig tree. The big tree still has lots that will become ripe next week, probably, but I'm just happy to see that both trees survived this springs frost. Also this frog, which had clearly started making a winter home in my new pond waterfall. We are all nidificating (nest building, I learned from Susie Dent on twitter) given the newly dark winter evenings).
Excellent to be back home but very happy to be heading off to see TallGirl tomorrow.
