Gender non-conformity

Last week at choir practice, after fifteen minutes of rehearsal, I finally acknowledged the truth and crossed the aisle to join the tenors. I know the alto part (Beethoven's Mass in C) and will have quite a bit of work to learn the tenor part but this week I just loved singing at the pitch where my voice is and feels comfortable. It's odd singing in the low part of my range with people next to me singing in the high part of their range but I will learn.
