Sumac tree

Woke early and got started.  Did washing load, hound fed before 9.30 as he came down to breakfast without coaxing like a teenager.  Hung washing out and noticed how colourful the neighbour's sumac tree was in the morning sun.

Headed into town for a few supplies.  Had a head wind going.  Bought bread, fruit and naughtily 3 books.  There is a Monday book stall which sells any 3 books for £7. The bookseller also engages in interesting conversation, today we were extolling the past pleasure of reading novels by Iris Murdoch and Susan Hill.  Looking forward to reading one of the Matt Haig books in the not too distant future.

Chilly afternoon walk with the hound.  Cool in the shadow of buildings even at 2pm.
