A Shower of White
This morning was an early one. Getting things done and out of the way for the Easter weekend. Having narrowed things down, this left an opportunity, a window that couldn't be missed. All this snow and recent events had really put a dampener on things, so I went to visit to Titchmarsh nature reserve that i'd not been to since November! Looking rather like a snow shower, this is in fact hawthorn blossom. I also have a lovely macro shot of this, but the volume of blossom in this photo seems to have more impact. Whatever the temperature is telling us at the moment (1 to 2ºc) Spring has sprung. Swans, geese and ducks were all very protective of their land, red kites, cormorants, bullfinches, goldcrests (yes, goldcrests!) all made appearance. Today I also learnt that more ospreys have been returning to Rutland water... it's all happening, very exciting!
