A Spacious Car Park (widwed031121)
We decided, on a whim, to take the motorhome out for a run today. Stow on the Wold being far enough away to give it a chance to warm up and spin the oil around the engine properly.
There is a parking area in Stow with a few big spaces so we usually park there. However, pre pandemic the local authority introduced an app based parking permit widget MiPermit which I set up on my mobile and managed to pay the parking fee. Of course, now they are using a different parking app PaybyPhone, cue several people reading the notices several times, realising they don't understand, don't have enough signal to download the new app, or perhaps they feel they have enough parking apps already and don't really want another one. {insert your own expletives as you feel appropriate} I suppose it could be argued that a no-touch widget is virus safe? Unless you think having several adults discussing the system all clustered around the old pay with cash machine is not such a good idea?
I had a Victor Meldrew moment, Gill did manage to download the app and pay. Some just didn't pay, others gave up and left.
Hence the spacious car park.
The on-street and short stay parking in the middle of the town was of course pretty well full ... the shops less so!
On a more positive note: Gill has injured one of her heels, telephone consultation with the GP yesterday, on-line referral, the rehab hospital have just called to offer her an appointment tomorrow ...
Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting Wide Wednesday on the theme of Spacious.
