Atlantic, Assateague, Awash

A good long day at the shore, with explorations along the beach this morning and later to the Assateague State Park and a little town called Berlin (found W's requested brewery). Assateague is a narrow barrier island, like the one we're staying on. I'd visited it, along with its neighbor Chincoteague, a few times in the past but from the Virginia side, and hadn't realized it stretched north into Maryland. It would've been a treat to see some of the wild ponies, but apparently they are down along the National Park shore and we didn't buy a park pass this time.

Extras: the long pier at the south end of Ocean City; looking back toward the boardwalk and hotels; under the pier (that was fun - I took so many photos I could see the sea wash through by clicking through them all); and the Assateague shore (spot the tern!).

Home again tomorrow!
