Substitute crafter

I was volunteered to help out with an art project today. Concentrating on painting finicky little rocks (not all these are mine) was a really good distraction from the uncertainty. Felt a bit like a cross between a Home Depot ad and a cheerleader, but that's ok. Also good was baking an apple crisp (crumble) and stopping by friend L to get her house keys; she and her family are taking off for Vermont to stay with her folks for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll look after things once I'm back from Seattle. Hopefully we'll have a clear blue winner by the time of Saturday's flight; we're all pacing the floors!
