More Locomotive Driving Wheels,

I am at home today. I spent some time following up my entry of two days ago.

The driving wheels shown there are Bullied Firth Brown Wheels.  Apparently this design is stronger and also more accurately machined than the spoke design favoured by other engineers.

The locomotive model shown today is  The New York Central Hudson designed by Henry Dreyfuss and features similar disc wheels. 

This locomotive pulled the 20th Century Limited train running between New York and Chicago.

This particular model was manufactured by the Italian Company of Rivarossi.
