Workhorses of Lower Chittering 2

They gathered in formation.
Their becabled leader standing proud,
waiting for that moment
when the workmen gather round.

That purpose giving moment
when they get to do their bit.
When they prove to all and sundry
that for purpose they are fit.

Fit to build a cubby
or a multipurpose shed,
a gate, a fence, an armchair,
or just a veggie bed.

Waiting, ever waiting
for their moment in the sun.
When tools go back in boxes,
and the job’s successfully done.
