From the beginning

The Ted Ashby

Another iPhone shot today, not through choice but when we left the house i thought it was only to go to the shops. we ended up in Auckland and had a wander round Sail market and the docks. We decided to go into the maritime museum to pass an hour or so and ended up in there for a few hours. Its a fascinating place, especially looking at (and touching) things like the wheel of the HMS Orpheus which still remains New Zealand's worst shipwreck claiming the lives of 189 men.
We then payed the amazingly cheap price of $12 each to go on a harbour cruise on the Ted Ashby Sailing scrow. It is a replica of an 1800s flat bottom sailing ship that was used to transport heavy loads into shallow waters.
This shot shows us heading for the Auckland Harbour bridge, once under it we tacked to the right and turned very quickly before heading back to the museum. If you are visiting Auckland i would say this is a must do.
