New Venture

The winter weekend train service started today, welcomed in by some very unpleasant weather.   Here the 205 departure is setting off up the line with the smoke and steam racing ahead in the gale!   Twenty seven hardy souls headed off up the valley, thankfully the driving rain eased so there will have been scenic views ... below the clouds at least.

We were at Wharf for lunch with Mum and Chris.  Mum is off home to London tomorrow, Jamie and I hope to visit her before Christmas and it will be fun for her to visit and stay at Ruth's new place next year :-)    Otherwise it's been a lazy day, tea and cake at Jamie's after lunch ... I dozed in Jamie's reclining chair.
