Look the Other Way

Sometimes a hazard for car drivers, the low November sunlight was very welcome this afternoon.   Looking west, dramatic backlighting.   Looking  east, a golden glow.   Fireman Josh, his Mum and Dad both engine drivers, enjoying a day out while on a weekend visit  home.   A pleasingly busy day in the cafe, boosted by the party of outdoor volunteers passing through (this is the autumn Outdoor Week - intensive line maintenance) and a training train for soon-to-be guards.   

What was left of the day was first used in making lots of blackberry and apple jam with Ruth - special thanks to neighbour Gill who provided sugar when we ran out!   We then spent a happy couple of hours with Jamie before bedtime.
