Willow

The willow spiles are really putting on good growth. These ones are just waiting in the rain-water butt ready to go into the ground to stabilise the earth where we had a land-slip a couple of months ago. It gives me great hope that the ones P has put in the ground so far are already beginning to do their job.

When I was little, we always used to sing a song when we saw the soft willow-buds coming out:

I know a little pussy - he'll never be a cat,
Cos he's a pussy-willow. Now what d'you think of that?
