Feisty Hen

Being nearby we nipped into Riccarton Garden Centre for birdfood but had to wait to get in as there was a flurry of activity by the people in front, which turned out to be an attack on the man's feet by this chicken; apparently it has an obsession with men's shoes.

I did not catch its name but it is happy to wander freely outside or inside the shop and even allows folk to hold and cuddle it. I gave that privilege to the couple who had been the recipient of attention earlier.

In fact there is quite a menagerie there, including an emu, peacock, and a variety of ducks and geese.

We were just leaving when a couple from church arrived so had a good catchup with them until we began to freeze as the sun went down.
