Football

I'm not a great football fan, I leave that to my sons Peter and Tom, but today was a bit of an exception.   This afternoon  Stratford Town was playing Shrewsbury Town in the first round of the FA Cup at home after beating three teams to qualify; and it was being televised (ITV4, a channel I must profess to never have watched!).  The Stratford ground holds 2500 people, not really up to Aston Villa capacity, 42,785, and tickets were in great demand. Luckily for Tom he managed to get one, although he has a Villa season ticket he does watch Stratford Town every now and then.

Stratford played well, especially in the first half, scoring a goal in the first five minutes, but Shrewsbury, a professional side in League 1 playing the amateur team of Stratford,  inevitably came back later in the game to win 1-5.

So apologies for the snapshot from the TV, but I suspect this is a once in a lifetime occurrence (the football match, not me taking a photo of my TV!).
