Autumn leaves

Two more bags of books for Oxfam, all interleaved with stuff, reviews, photos, postcards, marking the last pages read, and a some odds and sods from the garden to drop off at Flusco on the way.
Then a walk up to see the chaps. I saw my first large flock of fieldfares of the season, busy feasting on hawthorn berries. The colours were richly golden and the strong winds coursed across the tarn like shoals of herring. I am always reminded of Thoreau here. As ever I lapse into a dream and want to stay forever until it’s time to head back down again.
