Salmon leaping
Today we went to the weir on the River Tanat to watch for salmon jumping on their way to get to their spawning grounds upstream. We'd heard that there are a lot less of them than in the past so were glad to see some.
I took lots of photos of heads, tails or just water so was pleased to get a couple of the whole of the fish even though this one is not very sharp. A lot of them failed to jump the waterfall and slid back down, I hope that they'll find the fish pass at the side or succeed in jumping up.
Afterwards we went for a walk along the Montgomery Canal. We saw a flock of redwings, the first of the season. We also saw siskins and a song thrush.
