Via dolorosa

Good Friday is full of activity, pondering, listening. Trial, torture, crucifixion, burying.

Like many fellow travellers, I have no idea what to do with Holy Saturday. In the great Old English and Middle English periods they needed to fill it with something, so they decided that Christ would spend the day "harrowing hell"! (Their language- and it made for superbly horrific scenes in the English Mystery Plays). It's an idea that has no basis at all other than as an exciting legend that somehow reflected a couple of words in the Creed.

Still, tomorrow is - as they say - another day! And this time they're right!
