Offa’s Dyke

Today we found Offa’s Dyke.
Offa was the King of Mercia from 757 to 796 A. D.
In the 780 his men dug an 80 mile long dyke to make a 
clear boundary between Wales and England.
My blip looks down into the Dyke which now forms a footpath. This is part of
the 177 mile Offa’s Dyke National Trail which follows the whole border between 
Wales and England.

The woodland colours were lovely but would have been even better for a little sunshine.

A grey day with some drizzle in the morning which explains today’s extra.

We enjoyed an hour in a bookshop in a village. It had coffee, cakes and a wood burning stove.
In addition to new books it had 50,000 second hand books for sale. Who would not enjoy browsing in there.
My grandaughter would have loved it for sure.
