Today was Johnny's funeral.
The whole farming comunity turned out and the crowd that couldn't fit into the crematorium seemed fittingly endless.
He farmed tirelessly his whole life, even throughout his recent chemotherapy prior to the Covid that stole him from us. His heart was huge, he loved and was loved by so many.
He adored his boys and Anne, his wife who is equally beautiful inside and out, and they adored him.
There were a great many tears today, but then a joyous celebration of his life in the local pub. I shall miss him dearly he leaves a huge hole. But in particular I am grateful to him for being such a wholesome, kind role model for both our boys and such a true friend to us all.
Anne's mission today was to speak to everyone who attended. This is a shot of her 6 hours into that mission. She's astonishing, and she's currently on a steep learning curve of working out how to run the farm without Johnny. There is nothing more certain than the fact she will work it out, and that she will have her boys and a whole community behind her.
