Arran from Cowal

We went over to Tarbert for lunch with some friends today, and spent the afternoon there.

We caught the 5.15 ferry back to Portavadie and as we drove over to Millhouse at about quarter to six the setting sun was illuminating the Island of Arran, still covered in snow.

I don't think I have ever seen the island like this before - a testament to the extraordinary snowfall of last week.

(I have blipped Arran from Argyll several times - this is the view from Kintyre last year , in rain showers rather than in snow)
