We watched sunset over ….

We couldn’t have watched sunset over the castle on the hill …. Not unless we were out at sea.

The castle sits on the eastern edge of Lindisfarne and the sun rises behind it.

This is a photo of a print we bought the last time we were there.  It’s painted from inside Gertrude Jekyll’d garden which sits to the north of the castle.

When we were there in mid summer the garden was full you could. Barely see the paths - this print is more like the garden was this last time round … barren and waiting for new planting.

I took a long while before I decided where to hang it- is currently on the stairs so I can look at it as I dry my hair in the morning and gaze at it on my way to bed.

Truly my happy place.  

I keep sitting thinking about the wee bar and wondering what the locals are up to …..



I replaced the photo - I cannot believe what a terrible photo I managed to take of it on my way to bed last night.   It's a really beautiful print, not as bad as the one I originally posted.
