Growing
These are tomato plants in the tunnel house, planted a couple of days ago.
I have gone overboard on watering options this year, having struggled to keep everything well-hydrated last year.
There is weed mat to reduce evaporation from the soil surface (as well as to suppress weeds), beneath which I have laid alkathene piping with holes pierced every 6cm or so. This is hooked up to the hose when needed. And also there are bottomless upside down bottles, which I fill with water and which releases it straight to the plants’ roots.
That should do it.
Incidentally, I use the same for the sweetcorn and cucumbers which are in a second raised bed in the tunnel.
