Orange Peel

I have walked past a heap of discarded orange peel for several days, just opposite my house. But I have looked closer and spotted that it is in fact a fungus. So I looked up orange peel fungus and there it is - Aleuria aurantia otherwise commonly known as, err, orange peel fungus.

Who'd have thought it? I must have walked past this in previous years but not noticed it. Now I have got the new macro lens for the Fujifilm I keep spotting different fungi. 

What with crouching down by a felled oak tree and planting out the winter flowers in the front window boxes I have had a good dose of fresh air today.
