Kyoto Friendship Garden

We took a wander round the grounds of Lauriston Castle today, which, despite there being lots of people with dogs and children, always seems very tranquil and relaxing, particularly the Kyoto Friendship Garden. The autumn reds and yellows were really shining out on a fairly murky day. (Extra).

Later, I was dismayed to see the first lit C trees (can’t bring myself to write it in full) in the windows of a couple of nearby flats. I suspect they might be Airbnb lets, judging by the safe key locks at the street door entrances. Quite why they have to put the decorations up so early is a mystery - but then a lot of the world seems to be totally insane to me!
