Kelston Park

A walk by the river Avon from the village of Saltford towards Bath. Lots of people row boats here, and it’s a venue for races, as there’s a long straight bit of river. Looking across to the other side and up the hill there is Kelston Park - which was built in the 1760s and is lovely I think.  I always imagine scenes from Jane Austen novels taking place there. We sat on the bank for a while and looked across.  We watched a jay and a green woodpecker in the field opposite, investigating the ground for food.
