Duck

What a relief to get out at the weekend. 

I had the dreaded man-flu in the week and had been quite poorly. Rosemary was also away running in the Cheviots and I still wasn't up to proper exercise. Rather, I headed down to Musselburgh and the Lagoons. The 'best bird' I saw was a female goldeneye, I just missed a sparrow-hawk & it was great to see the lapwing flying high above. 

But in the weak, I had been at a talk from wildlife photographer Tesni Ward and she had suggested photographing more common avian friends. So here we have a backlit mallard.
