Art in the forest
Monday
It was a sunny start to the day, but unfortunately by the time we got out to Rowe Woods late morning, clouds had moved in. We did a trail that we hadn’t done for some time, which was more up and down than I had remembered, so we got quite a good work out. We passed a couple of art works by John Ruthven, a Cincinnati artist, who gained quite a reputation for his wildlife art, and was a great supporter of the Nature Center’s work. He died in October of last year at the age of 95, and a new gazebo has been erected in his memory, and this temporary exhibit of prints of some of his works has been erected in places along the trails. The beech trees are still providing some good colour along the trails, and we saw some interesting fungus. After we’d had a late lunch, Roger got outside sucking up some of the leaves, Laura went off to work, and I got on with some ironing.
