Ruislip Manor
This morning I had to take my Mother for her Covid booster vaccination. We went to the Winston Churchill theatre in Ruislip which is being used as a vaccination centre. Afterwards, as it was such a bright morning, we explored the environs of the theatre which is on the site of the Manor of Ruislip. Still remaining are an impressive Great Barn, and this rather attractive Manor Farm House, built in about 1508 and now grade 2 listed. Apparently, it used to be known as Ruislip Court until the early 19th century, and Manorial Courts were held here until 1925. More recently, it has been restored and made accessible and available for various meetings and exhibitions. Manor Farm Ruislip
We then had a gander down the High Street, and bought some Christmas cards, before returning home for lunch.
This afternoon I helped my Mum bake a Christmas cake. She is well and truly exhausted by all this activity, so I hope we have a more restful day tomorrow.
