Mt Stromlo Observatory

We took a drive up to Mt Stromlo Observatory this afternoon, it was destroyed in bush fires that hit Canberra in 2003. It has closed to the public since then however they are trying to reopen it to the public sometime this year.

It was nice up there, really impressive views out across Canberra, very still. Amazingly there is still a lot of evidence of the fires with lots of burnt trees still on the hillsides & some burnt remains of buildings.

In a sign of our utter boredom & desperation for things to do we went to see Fast & The Furious this afternoon. As it was cheap tuesday and the only other thing on that we hadn't seen was The Pink Panther 2 ( What happened to the funny Steve Martin ?) we thought we go with fast cars...... amazingly it wasn't completely terrible although if it had been worse it might have been more fun as a comedy.... as it was it was predictable & a bit average...... the funny thing is that Vin Diesel is way funnier than Steve Martin ever was & as far as I can tell he's not even trying!!!
