Bear House, Killerton

Another National Trust property to visit on the return leg of our visit to Devon and Cornwall; the ‘Georgian’ (several different styles really) house, at Killerton, with its’ Bear House in the grounds. The house was reputedly given to the Trust by owner Sir Richard Acland, following his belief in public land ownership, in 1944. In the nearby estate chapel, which reminded me so much of many chapels from the Welsh valleys,  I saw the following inscription, which neatly book-ended the Alan Watts quote. “The Kingdom of God is within you.” (St Luke Evangelist xvii 21)
